About Us

The Ghana Transportation Professionals Forum (GTPF), founded in January 2009 in Washington DC, is a group of multi-disciplinary professionals with a mission to promote innovation and sustainable developments in transportation infrastructure and related systems. GTPF believes that its mission is critical to the long-term economic expansion of Ghana and is expressed through the following ideals:

  • Provide research and professional advice in the areas of transportation infrastructure and related systems planning, design, construction, operations, maintenance, security, ethics, environmental protection, and excellence in professional practice.

  • Provide a global platform for public expression and information exchange.

  • Foster creative collaborations with public and private agencies, communities, and academia regarding transportation- related issues.

Mission Statement

 

Ghana Transportation Professionals Forum (GTPF) is a private, non-profit group of multi-disciplinary professionals with a mission to promote innovation and sustainable developments in transportation infrastructure and related systems via research, professional practice, policy development, and implementation.

​

The overall purpose of our organization is to promote research related to transportation policies and the planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance of the physical infrastructure of the transportation system in Ghana.

​

We also seek to provide leadership in the development of sustainable solutions to transportation-related issues in Ghana towards promoting long-term economic growth.

​

GTPF also aims at providing a global platform for public expression and knowledge exchange; promote creative collaborations with public and private leaders, agencies, communities, and professionals regarding transportation-related issues.

​

Moreover, among our objectives is to provide leadership to influence national policy discussions, development, and implementations in transportation-related developments and the built environment that will improve public health and safety, protect the environment, and strengthen security and the economy.

​

While pursuing our goals, we seek to encourage teams of experts and professionals from private/public sectors and academia to actively engage in research that will yield technologies and insights leading to innovations in the effective utilization of resources.

​

Finally, we seek to actively participate in the promotion of ethics and excellence in professional transportation practice in Ghana.

Council of Elders

The Council of Elders, also referred to as the Advisory Board, is a group of accomplished professionals that are appointed to assist, monitor and help steer the executive board in establishing direction for GTP-NA corporate management related policies, and motivate the general membership as a whole with direction for future actions and deliberations.

The roles of the Advisory Board are:

  • Provide moral support to the organization

  • Assist the group in their execution of roles and responsibilities.

  • Provide feedback to the organization regarding its operations and functions.

  • Provide advice upon request and also share knowledge, expertise, and experiences with the group.
